Scholarships are free money for college! Apply to as many as possible that you are eligible for.
A college scholarship is money for college expenses that does not have to be paid back. Scholarships are awarded to students for different reasons including things like academic achievement, a special talent, or a specific characteristic. They may range from a few hundred dollars up to the full cost of attendance. Scholarships may be awarded for use at a specific college (institutional scholarships), or they may be "portable," meaning that students can use the funds at any college they choose to attend.
Browse the tables below for general scholarship applications (like the OSAC scholarship that allows Oregon students to apply to more than 500 scholarships using just one form) and search engines as well as scholarships from each of Oregon's public and private, not-for-profit colleges and universities.
At a minimum, high school seniors and current college students should complete the OSAC scholarship application and apply for any institutional scholarships for which they are eligible. Of course, the more scholarships you apply for, the more money you'll be eligible to earn, so apply to as many scholarships as you can! Many scholarships are open to younger students as well, so it's not too early to get started applying now.
